IT’S good news for sufferers of back pain, sprained ankles or tennis elbow as a new physiotherapy clinic has opened in the heart of Liss.
Petersfield Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic opened its doors at the beginning of March to offer a wide range of services for anyone suffering aches and pains or recovering from injuries.
Clinic founder Gerry O’Neill explained why she decided to move from Petersfield to a converted studio in Limes Close: “I’ve worked in Petersfield and Liphook for a long time and I wanted to consolidate my two clinics into one central location. Liss is perfect and I love the strong community feel here.”
Gerry, 53, has 30 years’ experience working as a physiotherapist and set up her own practice 16 years ago, specialising in treating young sportspeople for injuries and to help golfers improve their game.
She said: “I love playing golf and I love working with golfers to improve their flexibility and core strength in relation to the golf swing; this helps prevent injuries and improve the consistency of their game. I also treat any existing golf-related injuries.”
But clients don’t have to be athletes to see Gerry. She also works with people of any age recovering from joint, muscle and tendon problems.
“It’s important to look after yourself, your joints and your back, no matter what your age,” she said. “My motto at Petersfield Physio is “It’s a joint process” because I love working with people to relieve old injuries and help improve their posture and core strength for a generally healthier life.”
An enthusiastic adventurer, Gerry has raised thousands of pounds over the years for cancer charities through long distance bike rides all over the world, including Tanzania, Peru and Vietnam.
Gerry works with colleagues based at Hobbs Rehab, in West Liss, to offer a range of treatments, including personal training, sports massage, a back clinic and nutritional advice. For anyone wanting to feel more invigorated and less stressed, she even offers cosmetic acupuncture.
Gerry is offering discounts for her first month at Liss. For more information or advice, she can be contacted on 01730 267645 or at http://www.petersfield-physio-clinic.co.uk/contact-us
