ONE OF Petersfield’s town centre pubs has been recognised by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).

The Townhouse, a popular bistro-style pub located in High Street, has been selected for the latest edition of CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide for 2018.

Owner Dom Humphries said: “I am ecstatic. I have been running pubs for 18 years. This is the first time this pub has been in it and it’s the only one in Petersfield.

“It’s the only one in the town for a few years. It’s nice to be appreciated and it’s nice for a beer appreciation society to recognise that.

“We made a conscious decision to sell local beer when we opened. It’s all local breweries. We make a point of it all being local.

“We’ve got stuff in the cellar from six miles away. The feedback that we get is good. Some of our regular customers like special beers.”

The Townhouse opened in November 2015 and preparations are now under way to celebrate the establishment’s second birthday. Dom said he is thrilled that the hard work has paid off.

He added:?“We are all chuffed to bits. It’s something I have been trying to do for a long time.”

Now he is hoping more people will pay a visit to the pub, having seen it in the book.
