DURING a tour of the Ardennes battlefields Petersfield Royal British Legion members are to visit the graves of Petersfield men who died during the First World War.
While in France and Belgium from Sunday to Thursday, March 22, they will visit Duisans British cemetery in Etrun, France, for an Act of Remembrance at the grave of Private Alfred Cudmer, of the First Battalion, Hampshire Regiment, who died on March 29, 1918.
They will also visit the Hautrage Military Cemetery in Belgium, where they will honour Lance Corporal Herbert Alfred Herriott of The 15th (Kings Own) Hussars, who died on August 28, 1914.
At both graves the Union flag will be lowered and a two minute silence observed.
