STUDENTS at The Petersfield School returned after half term to be greeted by new head teacher Mark Marande.

He took over from former head Nigel Poole in the New Year, but his first official day in charge of the school in Cranford Road was last Monday (April 11).

Mr Marande said: “I aim to build on our well-deserved reputation for providing an excellent education that encompasses both the formal curriculum and a huge wealth of extracurricular opportunities.

“Having now spent increased time at the school and having seen our students perform in several different contexts, it is no surprise to me that we remain hugely oversubscribed.

“Working with the highly dedicated staff and governors, I am confident that we can achieve even greater success.”
