A PETERSFIELD town centre green infrastructure development plan forum in April has been cancelled.
The cancellation comes after a successful campaign by residents and local green groups to prevent the felling of the trees in Petersfield Square.
Now a working group from Petersfield Town Council, East Hampshire District Council, South Downs National Park Authority, and the Petersfield Society is to examine and make proposals for public scrutiny for the future of the natural environment including trees of the town centre.
A spokesman said: “In view of the progress being made by the working group, including the town centre plans of the now adopted Petersfield Neighbourhood Plan, the forum on Thursday, April 21, has been cancelled. “But the design forum on June 2 will still go ahead.”
