PETERSFIELD Twinning Association enjoyed Spanish food and music to help cover the cost of entertaining French guests visiting the town later the year – a quarter of a century after the twinning agreement between Petersfield and Barentin in Normandy was signed.
The International Supper evening was held in the United Reform Church hall in College Street, and 40 association members attended.
Association chairman David Jeffery said: “For our annual, we organised a Spanish meal, and we enjoyed a welcome sangria and tapas, followed by Spanish omelette, and a chicken and chorizo main course.
“In the interval before the dessert course, a guitarist played typical Spanish tunes from different regions of Spain."
Mr Jeffery was re-elected as chairman for another year at the association’s annual general meeting on March 14.
He added: “Our French friends visit us towards the end of May and we organise a day out for them, and a special meal to cement our friendship, which so far has lasted 25-years.
“If anyone would like to host a couple, or a single visitor, that would be most helpful.”
Later this year association members will visit the German town of Warendorf, with which Petersfield is also twinned. For more information email [email protected] or visit the website
