Petersfield University of the Third Age meetings for October are as follows:

Monday, October 12, at Petersfield Community Centre, Love Lane, at 2.30pm - Annual General Meeting followed by a talk on ’Life in a Medieval Mansion’, given by Paul Ulson. Paul has worked for more than 20 years in many historical environments, including working at Chichester District Museum.

U3A members free, visitors £2.50

Wednesday, October 21, community centre, 2.30pm - Arts & Heritage. Alexandra Loske will talk about the ’Life and Work of Sculptor Dame Barbara Hepworth’ covering Dame Barbara’s extraordinary career from runner-up in the 1924 Prix de Rome right up to her death in 1975. Entrance fee is £2.50.

Tuesday, October 27, at Petersfield Community Centre, Love Lane, at 2pm - Science & Technology. Hillary Bagshaw’s talk on ‘Pewter; The Forgotten Metal’ came about after his daughter returned from a charity shop with an interesting metal item. His interest grew so much that he became a member of the Pewter Society. Hillary will bring some of his large collection to handle and discuss. Entrance fee is £2.50
