THE WINNING combination of alcohol, food and live music is returning to Petersfield’s Festival Hall today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday) with the town’s spring beer and cider festival.

Headlining the music acts on Saturday evening are Hampshire-based Rehab Blues featuring vocal, horn section, guitar, bass and percussion playing blues, jazz, soul, ska, and Latin. They are inspired by Amy Winehouse and stretch from Nina Simone to The Specials.

Earlier in the evening, which is open from 6pm to 11pm, drinkers can enjoy music by The Mark Nelson Blues Band and Gavin Driver.

Liphook’s Mackenzie sibling trio of Aimee, Freya and Ross, performing as Emmay, are the stars of Saturday afternoon, from noon to 5pm, where the session will also include Devin Jade, Alex Kriche and Letters to Daisy.

Another top line-up on Friday, from 6pm-11pm, will feature a horn, vocal and guitar-driven soul band, The Sensational Jonny Deps, who will follow rock band Bemis and Patchwork Story.

Food is available as well as gin, wine and soft drinks. Entry to each session is £8, which includes a pint glass and a token for one-third of a pint.

Tickets for the event, which is organised by Hometown Festivals, are available online at: www.petersfieldfest.com or at One Tree Books, Lavant Street, Petersfield.
