A PETERSFIELD Royalist wasn’t going to let the Queen’s 90th birthday go by unnoticed so, true to form, Colin Greetham donned his royal outfit and went to town.
The veteran cricketer, who also regularly attends international cricket matches dressed as the Queen, said: “I visited the Folly Wine Bar and other places in the town.
“But the best reception was in The Square Brewery.
“There was a band playing, and I had a few dances, but unfortunately it’s hard to drink with the mask on – not that the Queen drinks beer of course.”
In his royal regalia, Colin, who still plays veterans cricket, also visited West Meon, where there was a Queen’s birthday celebration too.
And he set out to visit the Petersfield Salvation Army’s 130th anniversary and Queen’s birthday celebration in the grounds of The Petersfield School.
But, he said, due to the nature of the day, the royal cavalcade was late arriving, and the event was almost over by the time he got there.
“I managed a few drinks in the evening to celebrate the Queen’s birthday. I am a firm supporter of the royal family, and the Queen, who does a fantastic job of pulling the country together,” he added.
