PETERSFIELD Twinning Association has sent, and received, Christmas messages with twin towns Barentin in France and Warendorf in Germany.

Association chairman Neil Dobinson said: “This is a time of expectant waiting and our message carried the wish that before too long we shall all be released from the Covid-19 crisis and be able to meet with each other again and enjoy visits to each other’s countries.

“More than ever, the pandemic has reminded us that all the peoples of the world truly share all of life on one ‘small’ planet.

“It’s a good time to recall the wording on the BBC coat of arms that used to shown on British TV broadcasts every night, Nation shall speak Peace unto Nation.”

The Warendorf twinning association’s message read: “Thank you for the photograph, a perfect “bridge” between the Petersfield, Warendorf and Barentin communities.”

And from Barentin came the message: “On behalf of all the members of the Cercle d’ Amitié Européenne, we wish you a happy Christmas with your loved ones.”
