DESPITE daily peak-hour queues, plans for 22 new homes and a business unit won’t affect traffic on Ramshill, says a report to planners.

It says: “The proposals will not have a detrimental impact on the local highway network.”

Plans to replace Trademark House with 15 flats, seven houses and a business unit have been submitted to South Downs National Park planners.

The entrance to the site is off a busy through road, about ten yards from the Esso petrol station exit, and virtually opposite the Churcher’s College entrance.

Just yards away on one side is access to one of the town’s biggest estates, Barentin Way, and Hoggarth Close mini-estate is on the other side.

East Hampshire District Council planners will decide the application for the national park and have held pre-application talks with Trademark House London representatives.

The proposal, put together with planners’ advice and guidance with its entrance on to a road often at a standstill during peak hours, has attracted traffic-related objections from both Petersfield Town Council and residents.
