PLANS for 85 houses on a Petersfield field have been submitted by developers Kebbels.

Owned by Petersfield Town Council, the land is between Heathfield Road, and Penns Place rugby pitches. Access to the estate will be from the road and on to Pulens Lane, which has angered some residents living there.

As well as the Kebbels application to South Downs National Park Authority planners, the town council has also applied to remove a hedge in the field.

Environmental campaigner Ann Holloway said: “This old and diverse hedge is an important wildlife corridor, and is protected under the Hedgerows Act, and should be retained.”
