SCORES of people took part in a special ‘pop-in’ event in Buriton aimed at shaping the future of the parish.

During the event in the village hall, residents identified things they do and don’t like, or they felt needed changing.

Their views and comments will help produce an up-to-date guide which will help protect the village’s special qualities and guide its future development. Existing plans were out of date said spokesman Doug Jones, and needed updating.

He added: “We are calling the project ‘Plan B,’ and it was exciting to collect so many comments and ideas, there were lots of ideas about enhancing things.”

Map-based information and hundreds of local photographs were available to look at, as were exhibition panels, and there were short presentations.

Discussion topics included the style of local buildings, the countryside and landscapes, wildlife, footpaths, the village pond, and the tranquillity of the area.

Those with views or ideas, or keen to get involved in producing the plan, should contact the Plan B team via the website www.buriton.info, or e-mail [email protected]
