A PLANNING application for an office block at the former Ordnance Supply Unit (OSU) site Area B, at Midhurst Road in Liphook, has been approved by East Hampshire District Council.
The application was approved by the council’s planning committee at its meeting on December 22.
Eight councillors voted for planning permission, no councillors voted against planning permission and no councillors abstained from voting.
Permission had previously been granted for two office blocks on the former OSU site and a terrace of three light industrial units with access off Midhurst Road.
The latest application proposed a second vehicular access which would serve the new smaller office block and light industrial unit.
The planning officer had recommended that the application be approved.
In conclusion the planning officer said: “The Joint Core Strategy identifies the application site as falling within the Settlement Policy Boundary (SPB) for Liphook.
“The development is considered to be of a satisfactory standard of design and is acceptable in terms of layout, scale and landscaping.
“The development is considered to have an acceptable relationship with the neighbouring occupiers and the access and parking arrangements are considered to be satisfactory.
“Having taken into account all relevant considerations, it is concluded that the proposed development is in full conformity with the provisions of the development plan.”
