BURITON has a Plan B – and that’s official.

In the recent years, the community has produced a number of plans which have led to improvements to village life.

Each of the plans has influenced organisations such as the county and district councils, the highways authorities and bus companies.

But some of them are now a bit out of date and need freshening up.

The village also has a new authority to work with, the South Downs National Park Authority.

So, Buriton Parish Council held a public meeting to ask for help. A group of enthusiastic volunteers stepped forward to kick off the new projects.

And it was decided to call the initiative Plan B.

Over the next few years the Plan B group will be looking at updating guidelines which help planners look after the parish’s special qualities, recording special buildings that contribute to Buriton’s character, and identifying open spaces, including countryside views.

They will collecting the thoughts of residents on life in the village, with regular updates in the parish magazine.
