POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in Alresford this morning.

Shortly before 9am a black Audi A3 was involved in a collision with a green Ford Fiesta on Jacklyns Lane, by the Alresford Cricketeers Pub, in Alresford

The driver of the Fiesta, a woman, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Two children who were passengers in the vehicle, have also been taken to hospital suffering with minor injuries.

The driver of the Audi was treated at the scene.

The road remains closed whilst police conducted an examination of the area.
