POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was robbed of cash and his mobile phone in broad daylight in Liss.
A police spokesman said: “Between 10.30am and 11am on Wednesday, September 20, the victim, a man aged 33, was walking along Station Road in the direction of Hill Brow car park.
“As he walked into the Newman Collard playing field area, he was approached by two men who assaulted him and took £95 in cash, two 30g pouches of tobacco, and a Samsung mobile phone from his pocket.
“The victim sustained a sore nose and sore cheek as a result of the assault.”
One of the men was described as white, aged in his early 20s, about 5ft 9ins tall with short brown hair. He was wearing a brown Nike hooded top, with the hood up, and black Nike tracksuit bottoms.
The second man was also white, aged in his early 20s, wearing a white hooded top, with hood up, and black jeans.
PC Paul Sammons, said: “The robbery took place during the late morning close to a main shopping area.
"The two men both wore their hoods up, which may have looked out of place at the time.
"It is likely there would have been other people around at the time and I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the offenders in the area, to get in touch.”
