POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Charles Street at the junction with Swan Street, Petersfield.
The incident happened at around 3.30pm today (Wednesday, January 9) and the left the victim with serious injuries.
She was airlifted to to hospital by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance helicopter .
A police spokesman said: “We are also appealing in particular for a nurse who we believe may have witnessed the collision between a blue Citroen DS5 and a lady in her 70s.
“We believe the nurse stopped to help but left before police arrival.
“The lady was airlifted by the air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries.
“If you witnessed the collision or have any dash cam footage, please call 101, quoting Operation Ochre.”
