HAMPSHIRE Police has issued a county wide appeal for information regarding the whereabouts of a man after an assault on a woman.
Officers investigating an incident in Emsworth early on Sunday, February 12, say they would like to speak to 26-year-old Karl Gates.
Detective Sergeant (DS) Steve Kelly said: “Karl Gates from Havant is wanted for questioning in connection with a report of an assault on a 24-year-old woman in Cold Harbour Farm Road.
“Officers have made a number of enquiries into his whereabouts but have so far been unable to locate him.”
Mr Gates is described as white, between 5ft 9ins and 5ft 10ins tall, of stocky build with short dark hair, and with a tribal tattoo on his chest.
DS Kelly added: "We are aware that there has been some activity on social media in connection with this investigation over the weekend.
“We would urge anyone who knows where Karl Gates is, or Karl himself, to come forward and contact us as soon as possible to allow us to progress our investigation."
