PETERSFIELD Police staff are still on track to leave the Victorian police station in the town centre.
The building in St Peter’s Road is now outdated and would cost too much to modernise it.
Chief Inspector Beth Pirie said she couldn’t confirm a date for the move yet, or where the team was going.
The sale is being overseen by the Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioners office, and Petersfield Museum hopes to buy the building for around £400,000.
The plan is to expand the museum, as well as create a Victoran Justice Visitor Centre.
Museum trustee Bill Gosney said the sale was on course to be completed in September.
It is thought the police team will move to empty offices in East Hampshire District Council’s building at Penns Place.
Chief Inspector Pirie said: “I would like to reassure people the Neighbourhood Police team will remain in Petersfield, it will be very much still here.”
