PETERSFIELD police are appealing for witnesses after a burglary at a house in the town centre.
Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Tobey Mason said: “The incident took place in King George’s Avenue between 10am and noon on Friday, January 12, when person’s unknown gained access to it via an insecure door and stole a handbag containing sentimental items and money.
“If you have any information about this please call 101 and quote reference number 44180025588.”
Following the incident, PCSO Mason is reminding residents to ensure that their homes are left secure if they go out.

PCSO Mason is also urging residents to report suspicious activity to police.
He added: “Please ensure you are vigilant at all times, calling police to report any suspicious activity, not just around your own property but anything suspicious in your residential area and community. In an emergency use 999 or 101 for non-emergency.
“It is not too late to report any suspicious activity to police.”
