PETERSFIELD Police are appealing for witnesses after a burglary in Sheet.

Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Kathryn Morning said: “The burglary at a non dwelling building on Farnham Road happened between the Sunday, July 16, and 3pm Thursday, July 20.”

Police are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious contacts 101, quoting referencing crime number 44170279078.

Police are also reiterating that a secure home, businesses or outbuilding, will help deter thieves.

PCSO Morning said: “Please remember to keep windows secure and lock all doors, and on returning home for the evening ensure you shut and lock windows and doors when you settle down for the evening.

“Use timer switches that are available from most DIY stores to switch on lights, and radios while you are away from the home to make it look and sound occupied.

“Padlock side gates to deny access to the rear of the property, and check your outside lighting is in working order, and consider low level ambient light on a dusk to dawn sensor, this will activate even when you are not at home.”

Householders are also advised to property mark belongings with house number and postcode, and keep a list of makes, models and serial numbers, of domestic equipment.

They should also take photos of jewellery, and register items for free at www.immobilise.com.

PCSO Morning said: “Using this service will assist the police in returning property to the rightful owner should it be stolen.
