HAMPSHIRE Police and Crime Commissioner (HPCC) says policing in the county won’t change in the immediate future after the Brexit vote.

HPCC Michael Lane, said: “The decision to Leave the European Union is, of course, an important one. The electorate have voted in the referendum and the decision has been made.

“There will be work to renew and reinforce national arrangements for partnerships – including those in the EU and beyond. And the local impact will be something to monitor and engage about in due course.

“But today, my task and that of the Constabulary continues unchanged. As Police and Crime Commissioner, I wish to reassure everyone that the task remains the same – to work to keep you and your family safer.”
