IF?YOU?are thinking of celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday this year with a community event, there are grants of up to £500 now available from Winchester City Council.

Applications are invited until March 7 for its small grants scheme for not-for-profit or voluntary organisations.

The authority says the pots of cash are ideal for one-off activities, pieces of equipment, promotional material for an event – or a community activity to mark the Queen’s birthday.
