THERE was a big turnout for Petersfield Town Council’s annual town meeting in the Rose Room at the Festival Hall on March 2.

Five Rivers project manager Steph Knights gave an update on the Petersfield Heath Pond improvements.

Petersfield Town Mayor Cllr Lesley Farrow said: “Steph gave a really good, thorough talk about the project.

"They are just finishing the boardwalk, then they will be working on the banks and they will be back in a month or so for the planting.”

Four youngsters received certificates marking their success in The Daniel Day Lewis Award 2019–2020, which recognises performing arts talents aged under 16.

The winner was Tilly Padley of The Petersfield School, for work in dance and drama.

Commended were theatre and drama trio Darcy Gander (Lion and Unicorn Players), Theo Lacey (Winton Players) and Stanley Lyons (The Petersfield School).
