VOTING has begun in Liss for the European Union (EU) referendum.

Queues were reported when the polling booths opened at 7am, and there were still a steady stream of voters later in the morning.

Residents are being reminded that polling stations close at 10pm, and then if there are queues the doors will shut, and only those in the queue will be able to vote.

Locally and nationally a big turnout is being predicted, and the result is expected to be close.

Those behind the Remain in the EU and Leave the EU campaigns are urging everyone to vote.
