A popular primary school teacher who devoted much of her working life to education in Farnham has died.
Margaret Spencer, who died recently in Liss, aged 89, taught at St Andrew’s Infant School from 1974 to 1991.
The accomplished pianist led on music at the school and made a specialism of teaching pupils with additional needs.
Margaret previously worked at the same school in the early 1960s and also had a spell at West Street Boys School, now called Potters Gate Primary.
In retirement she was the organiser of the Rowledge Good Companions, a social group for older residents.
Married to John, who died in 2015, she leaves behind two sons, Ed and Howard, and two grandchildren, Mia and Tommy.
