A BUYER has expressed interest in an historic building in Petersfield which Hampshire County Council is offering for sale.

An offer has been made on the Old College in College Street, just after a joint application for funding for a new Sixth Form college in the town is submitted to the government.

The application by The Petersfield School (TPS) and Bohunt School in Liphook should be decided by the end of March, said TPS headteacher Nigel Poole.

But the partnership behind the sixth form proposal refuses to be drawn on likely premises, only to say it must be within a few minutes' walk of Petersfield rail station.
