Fury in Froxfield as East Hampshire landlord tells Labour MPs: "You're barred"The theme of the third annual BBC Global Music Day, on June 15, was ‘The Power of Music’ and bellringers at the church in The Square joined those in 220 towers across the UK and from 30 countries in peeling the bells for ten minutes at 7pm.
A spokesman for the St Peter’s bellringers said: “It was a wonderful event on a warm summer’s evening and we became part of a global-wide family of ringers. Bellringers are a friendly lot and there is a very social aspect to ringing. It’s a team activity that stimulates the brain and helps keep you fit, especially when climbing some of those tower steps, and it makes a glorious sound.”
