PRIMARY school children across the South are being challenged to write about their dream space job for a competition aimed at inspiring them to follow in the footsteps of astronaut Tim Peake.
The Novium Museum in Chichester annual writing competition will encourage children aged seven to 11 years-old to write about their ‘Dream Space Job’.
Ten will win a themed sleepover for their class as part of the Tim Peake exhibition at the museum, which will open to the public on Thursday, December 15. The sleepovers have been funded by a grant from the UK Space Agency.
The authors can write a story, a rap, or even a play, but it mustn’t be any longer than one side of A4.
Entries need to be received by Friday November 25, and the winners will be announced on Friday, December 9.
Novium Museum manager Cathy Hakes said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for schools across the South to get involved and win a space themed sleepover at the museum as part of the Tim Peake Exhibition. We are really looking forward to starting to receive children’s stories - I am sure there will be some wonderful ideas out there.”
