A?PLEDGE?made by Theresa May has inspired the generosity of the East Hampshire Conservative Association.

Catherine Toplis, fundraising co-ordinator for the Steep, Stroud, Froxfield and Privett branches of the association, presented a cheque for £750 to the Petersfield-based hospice-at-home charity The Rosemary Foundation.

This was from the proceeds of an event held in Privett in June. A spokesman for the association said Prime Minister Theresa May had re-emphasised the Conservative Party’s aim to connect with communities, with a government for all.

“Your local Conservatives particularly welcomed this statement of intent as it reflects their own strong-held beliefs,” she said.

“It was as a demonstration of those beliefs that the branch was able to raise such a significant sum for the benefit of the Rosemary Foundation, contributing to its excellent care.”
