Motorists using the A3 Hindhead Tunnel for the rest of the day are being warned to expect delays and to plan alternative routes.

Road users in Hampshire and Surrey are advised by Highways England that one lane in both directions through the tunnel will be closed for the rest of the day due to technical issues with signage.

A planned full closure of the tunnel will be in place overnight between 9pm this evening and 6am on Friday morning.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place during the closure via the A325 through Bordon and A31 via Farnham.

Drivers planning to use this section of the A3 are advised to plan their journeys, use alternative routes where feasible and allow extra time to reach their destinations.
