A PUB between Petersfield and Chichester has won a top award.

The White Horse at Chilgrove on the B2141 has won the title of the Best Pub in West Sussex in the National Pub and Bar Awards.

Niki Burr, manager at The White Horse, said: “We are all immensely proud to be named Best Pub in West Sussex and be in the final for Best Pub in the UK.

“Words cannot describe what a wonderful boost this has been for the whole team.”

The 94 winners were selected from each county in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland after being assessed on the hospitality on offer.

The National Pub and bar awards grand finale in London is on Tuesday, May 23, where the best in each region, and the overall winner for 2017, will be selected.

The White Horse has already been awarded five gold stars, AA awards, and GQ’s Best Pub award in 2015 for its food, and beautiful countryside surroundings, close to Goodwood estate race circuit.
