HALLOWE’EN fun abounded as the Rogate Pumpkin Patch held its annual pick your own pumpkin week in the run-up to October 31.
Sophie Davey, from the Rogate Pumpkin Patch, felt the 2019 event was a resounding success.
She said: “Our new decision to open on Friday, October 25 – an inset day for some schoolchildren and pre-schoolers – was a great move. We were surprised with how many had this new opening date firmly in their diary.
“Over the seven days visitors travelled for miles and it was lovely to see so many repeat visitors.
“This year we added secret tunnels to the giant haystack and there was also an incy wincy spider web, trick or treat, a spooky slime factory, a bubble witch and Frankenstein the Human Statue.
“In the Pumpkin Pot we added paint a Hallowe’en pebble and make a magic wand or hanging bat.
“Our daily performers – Pumpkin Princess, The Runaway Bride and Dan the Hat – were a huge hit and entertained the crowds, and Professor Octavia arrived with the Magical Menagerie for Hallowe’en.
“Thank you to everyone who supported us again, and a note to self for next year – open for two weekends, not one!”
