A MISTY start developed into a light cloudy morning ideal for the runners of all ages who took part in this year’s Punch Bowl Challenges at the end of September.

Organisers were delighted that 240 runners – 28 of them from Petersfield, Liss, Liphook and Bramshott – registered to take part in various races on Sunday, October 3, at the National Trust’s Devil’s Punch Bowl.

The morning races offered challenges for all ages and abilities.

The runners were enthusiastically supported by friends and family.

The 50m dash for the little ones was entertaining to watch – the winners gave it their all and most of the runners made it to the finish line.

The children were delighted by their beaver-shaped medals.

The shorter races were started by Pippa Smithson, principal of The Royal School.

The mayor of Haslemere, Simon Dear, started the 10km race. The guests also handed out the prizes.
