Froxfield Pre-School tots have raised £144 for charity after completing a sponsored litter pick around the village.

Pre-school manager Gillian Jones said: “Our children are simply amazing! Over two days, they have been out in the local community completing a sponsored litter pick to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

“We are so proud of them all for taking the time to do this, and of the staff for helping organise this event”

The children are currently being taught about their environment, so the litter picking worked well alongside this.

They ventured into the village with their wellies on and carrying litter grabbers.

They managed to collect a couple of bags of rubbish containing all sorts from crisp packets to drink cans, and on their return to the village hall were presented with a cup and Cancer Research UK (CRUK) bracelet from the CRUK Children’s Shop as a big ‘thank you’.

They also learned how the money they have raised will help children who are very poorly to get better.

Gillian added: “They were absolutely thrilled with the cups and wristbands and went home eager to show their parents.”
