HAVE you ever had the feeling that everyone goes ‘quack’ and you go ‘honk’?

If you have, you will feel at home in Petersfield’s Festival Hall where the next production by Petersfield Youth Theatre is Stiles and Drewe’s award-winning Honk!

Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved story The Ugly Duckling, Honk! tells the story of an odd-looking baby duck, Ugly, and his quest to find his mother.

A gaggle of farmyard characters join the naïve, but loveable Ugly in his rites-of-passage journey from misrepresented duckling to elegant swan.

Peril lies around every corner, usually in the shape of the ravenous Cat, but Ugly receives help from unlikely sources and wins through, thanks to his sheer good nature.

Ugly is born, of course, as a duckling but it soon becomes clear that he is no ordinary duck.

Mocked on the farmyard, pursued by the ever-hungry cat, Ugly finds himself lost and embarks on an odyssey through the countryside.

Honk! will be performed from September 19-24, with evening performances at 7pm on September 19 and at 7.30pm for the other dates.

Matinee performances are at 2.30pm on September 23 and 24.

Tickets for all performances are available from One Tree Books, in Lavant Street, Petersfield, call 01730 261199 or online at: www.ticketsource.co.uk/petersfieldyouththeatre
