A FAVOURITE as part of the Phoenix Comedy Club ensemble, Joanna Neary is making her solo debut.

Described as one of the “most naturally funny stand-ups around”, Joanna brings her Does Animals and Men! –?with added women, animals and men –?to the Phoenix stage on Thursday, September 22, at 8pm.

Reacting to arts funding cuts, education reform and bridging the social divide, she hosts seminal talent show Opportunity Knockers for her act.

It’s all part of her quirky charm. She says, as a baby she was dropped on her head and stolen from outside Coventry library. She pretends to be French to avoid getting beaten up, dislikes the fashion for bags that look like bums, and at polytechnic paid by cheque for a Pot Noodle.

Joanna has appeared on TV in Miranda, Green Wing and Sarah Millican’s Support Group.

Her Faceful of Issues show was nominated for Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival 2016.

The Phoenix Comedy Club returns on October 6, with headline act Ian Cognito.
