RAIL travellers from Petersfield, Rowlands Castle, Liss and Liphook are being advised by South West Trains there will be changes to their timetables from Christmas Eve through until January 4.

A?Saturday service will be running on December 24 but check service schedules before you travel as there will be some alterations to that timetable.

From midday many trains will run with more coaches than normal to cope with the extra passenger numbers expected.

However, from 7pm a revised service will be in operation as services are run down before the network shuts completely at 11pm. The last train which will stop at Petersfield from the capital leaves London Waterloo at 9pm.

The last service to call at Liss, Liphook and Rowlands Castle leaves Waterloo at 8.45pm.

There will be no rail services running on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

On Sunday, December 27, a revised Sunday timetable will be in operation with some early morning services altered or cancelled. On Monday, December 28, South West Trains will be running a revised Saturday service, with the same service applying on December 29 and 30.

On New Year’s Eve a Saturday service will be in operation and on New Year’s Day the network will run to a Sunday timetable.

Revellers planning on travelling to London for the New Year celebrations in the capital can take advantage of services running in the early hours of January 1. Trains will operate as far south as Guildford and Winchester.
