THE NEW Year is a perfect time to take Stock.

Attila the Stockbroker, that is, as the sharp-tongued, high-energy rebel poet is returning to Petersfield for a gig that promises to evoke laughter and anger in equal doses.

The rebel poet is a Write Angle favourite who has built a worldwide legion of fans thanks to his sharp tongue and spiky views.

Trump, Corbyn, Brexit, Tories, populism, bladder cancer: if it’s topical, the social surrealist is bound to have a view and it’s well worth hearing what he’s got to say, even if it’s surprisingly positive.

“Look after yourselves and each other,” wrote the punk poet on his Facebook page during the final minutes of 2018, before urging followers to replace indifference and austerity with solidarity and hope.

“Do everything possible to heal the divisions we see all around, consciously fomented by the divide-and-rule strategy.”

Attila’s Write Angle performances are always well attended so early arrival is recommended when the Sussex artist performs above The Townhouse at 7.30pm next Tuesday.

The evening will include the usual and ever-popular Open Mic session. Entry £8 on the door.
