The annual Macmillan Coffee Morning fundraiser at the Harrow Inn between Sheet and Steep, run by sisters Claire and Nisa McCutcheon, has raised more than £2,700 so far.

As well as holding a coffee morning (pictured right), there is a stall selling flowers grown by local gardener Tony Clear that is open for a week, and a prize draw.

Joint organiser Selina Garstin said: “It was a record day and Claire, Nisa and I are thrilled with the result. It was, as usual, hugely well supported by the local community.

“We had some very generous draw prizes from local businesses which helped to boost our takings to this record level.

“We’re very grateful to everyone for supporting us and look forward to next year.”
