THE RED carpet will be rolled out for the sixth Liss Film Festival at the Triangle.
This year’s festival will start with the opening night gala, which will feature a canapes and fizz reception before the first film is screened.
There will be the option to turn up in 1960s dress to the opening gala, to tie in with the screening of Hairspray.
New this year is Cinegi, a streaming system which will enable the Triangle to screen classic theatrical productions as well as opera and ballet performances.
Cinegi will be used in the evening on Friday, February 16, to show a filmed national theatre performance of The Audience from 2013.
Festival organiser Marilyn Timney said: “Cinegi is a new venture for us which we hope will be popular.”
Tickets are on sale and this year the funds raised from the festival will be put towards lighting improvements and electrical works.
Preparations are going well for the festival, which will finish with a closing gala of a two-course meal and a screening of the final film.
This year’s festival will be from Thursday, February 15, to Sunday, February 18.
The films being shown are Hairspray, Tea with Mussolini, The Audience, Despicable Me 3, Logan Lucky and Victoria and Abdul.
There will also be the opportunity to have afternoon tea on Friday, February 16, after the screening of Tea with Mussolini, although tickets should be booked in advance. Tickets for the opening night gala and closing gala should also be booked in advance.
Tickets are available to buy by calling the Triangle’s box office on 01730 301000.
