Liss Royal British Legion’s commemoration of Remembrance Sunday on November 13 will return to its traditional format.

Liss RBL chairman Lieutenant Colonel Terry O’ Connor said: “The Remembrance Sunday parade and services are an important annual event for Liss. In addition to the wider village community, participation includes local councillors, the RBL branch, Liss Band and young people’s organisations.

“All RBL members, along with other local ex-service personnel, are invited to join the parade.”

On Remembrance Sunday the parade will form up at the RBL Club at 10.15am, led by Liss Band to St Mary’s Church for 10.25am.

After the service, the parade will return to the War Memorial for the placing of wreaths and concluding ceremony.

On the day, marshalled rolling road closures will affect parts of Rake Road, Mill Road, Hillbrow Road and Station Road between 10.10am and 10.50am, and between 11.30am and 12.20pm to facilitate the parade and marches.

There will also be an Armistice Day Service at Liss War Memorial on Friday (November 11), gathering at 10.45am.
