RESIDENTS are being urged to view the draft Petersfield Neighbourhood Plan before a yes or no referendum to decide if its adopted takes place.

The plan, if accepted, will set out where in Petersfield a minimum of 700 new houses should be built in the coming years.

The plan steering group, Petersfield Town Council, South downs National Park Authority and East Hampshire District Council, who are footing the £19,000 bill for the referendum, are all urging residents to view the draft plan and vote.

The referendum will be on Thursday, November 19, and it will be run along the lines of a regular election.

If the referendum shows support for the plan, then it is hoped that it would be adopted in January 2016.
