ROGATE’S annual Christmas fair is promising to be bigger and better than ever before.

Recognised as a firm favourite in the local calendar, the market in the village hall on Saturday, November 26, 10am to 1pm, will be a fun-filled, family event, say organisers.

Rogate vicar the Reverend Edward Doyle is also one of the organising committee, and said: “The Christmas Market is one of those lovely, traditional village occasions that is truly uplifting and can’t fail to give you a warm glow inside.

“We’re hoping to attract a good crowd on the day and raise as much as possible for some extremely worthwhile causes at home and abroad.”

Father Christmas will be there at 10.30am to delight the younger ones and they will also be able to enjoy festive colouring, traditional games, a lucky dip and seasonal fun activities.

And visitors will be tempted by stalls selling a variety of wares, including gifts, crafts, super cool stocking fillers for teens, Christmas cards and Advent calendars.

And of course there will be delicious home-made jams and chutneys and irresistible biscuits and bakes on offer.

Nearly-new toys and games can also be picked up at bargain prices and, for antiques enthusiasts, the Bric-a-Brac collection is not to be missed.

Another highlight for this year will be a performance by the Rogate School Carol Singers at 10.15am.

Visitors can try their luck at the Bottle Tombola and the Grand Raffle, which has some spectacular prizes, including £100 cash, a luxury food hamper, beauty treatments and vouchers for meals out at local restaurants. Tickets can be bought on the day or in advance from Rogate village stores.

Money raised by the event will be donated to charity, and although entry is free, a donation of a few coins in the bucket at the door would be greatly appreciated, said Rev Doyle.
