ROGATE residents are being urged to attend a public meeting to hear about plans to buy the White Horse pub and run it as a community enterprise.
The Harveys Brewery pub in East Street closed last August and was put up for sale for £415,000, and campaigners formed the Rogate Community Society, with the aim of buying it on behalf of the village.
In February the Plunkett Foundation approved a bid by the society for a loan and grants with a combined worth of up to £100,000 to help buy the pub.
The meeting in the village hall at 10.30am on Saturday will hear foundation representatives outline how it can help the society save the pub.
There will also be a presentation from a group which has bought a village pub elsewhere and is running it as a community enterprise.
