LISS Archaeological Group has held a successful big dig event in Stroud.
The big dig was held from July 22-24 and July 29-31.
In previous years the big dig has been held at The Spread Eagle in Liss and The Flying Bull in Rake.
Liss Archaeological Group publicity officer Alan Horgan said: “The big dig went very well and we have found some Romano-British material.

Plans submitted for 30 new homes in Liss - but where's the affordable housing?“There was a very good turnout of members digging, and the people who volunteered to have their gardens dug up were extremely hospitable and very helpful.
“David Quick was the project leader and he did an excellent job, along with our site director Juliet Smith.
“We will process the finds at a later date, and all of the finds will be returned to the home owners.
“We also had a stand at Stroud Revels and have got sufficient interest to return to Stroud next year and dig there again.”
