There will be music across Portsmouth Historic Dockyard in a new event this Friday and Saturday.

The two-day event will feature a wide range of musical performances, from sea shanties on the deck of HMS Warrior to The Royal Marines School of Music and Tudor opera singing with Jay Britton.

The event explores the rich history of music in the Royal Navy and is completely free with a valid ticket to the given attractions.

Major Daryl Powell, Director of music training at The Royal Marines School of Music said: “We’re excited to meet the public and delighted to be back at the Historic Dockyard.

"There’s really nothing better than playing beside HMS Victory and if anyone wants to know what life is like under our famous pith helmets, now’s the chance to find out.”

The Ultimate Explorer Ticket is the best value option for 12-month entry to all the attractions at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

Tickets start from £39 per adult and £29 per child. Book online here.
