PACKING a powerful emotional punch at this month’s poetry and music open mic night is the acclaimed Sara Hirsch.

The dynamic London-based performance poet is said to have explosive presence and delivery, making audiences cry with laughter one minute and just cry the next.

Write Angle organisers are delighted she is dropping by The Townhouse on Tuesday, May 16, at 7.30pm, and enthuse that it is a must-see show.

“Sara Hirsch was with us once before and she is a real dynamo,” said Leah Cohen. “She is amazing, one of our best ever and I am very excited she is coming to Write Angle.”

Sara is a multiple slam poetry award winner, and a regular at festivals around the country, and on television and radio.

Known for her witty, accessible and heart-felt poetry, she challenges the world around her through stories, poetry and comedy.

Write Angle will also have its usual open mic slots for poetry, song and music. New faces are always very welcome. Entry is £6, and there is a raffle for a free meal.
