PETERSFIELD’S branch of the Save the Children charity is hosting a Christmas Gift Fair to raise money for deprived children around the world.
Being held in the Festival Hall, Petersfield, on Thursday, November 12, from 10am to 4pm, a huge range of gifts will be on offer.
Joint organiser Jennie Azevedo said: “There will be an amazing variety of excellent gift shopping here, including clothes, beautiful accessories, jewellery, leather handbags, glassware, ethnic gifts, pet accessories, toys and other fabulous items you simply won’t find on the high street.
“It is a perfect opportunity to start buying those Christmas presents before the panic sets in. The stalls will appeal to all tastes and budgets.
There will also be a raffle, where you can win quality gifts, and a wide selection of homemade cakes.”
The £4 entry fee includes coffee or tea at the cafe in the hall run by charity volunters, as well as a shopping bag donated by the Country House Company, a joint sponsor of the fair.
To date, 2015 has been a busy year for the Petersfield branch volunters. In March they raised around £30,000 from a Big Clothes sale, also held in the Festival Hall.
In June a Family Fun Day at Queen Elizabeth Country Park raised more than £2,000, and in September a day of bridge saw more than 70 players raise £1,500.
Acting chairman and treasurer?Gordon Barker said: “The demands placed on Save the Children are growing enormously as a consequence of the refugee crisis.
“So it was very pleasing that, as well as having an enjoyable day, we were able to raise such a sum.”
